These messy curly hair styles are very old fashion an fairytale-esque.  Don't feel like your hair needs to be tight and perfect.  Messy and romantic is just right.  Also you can't go wrong with braids and variations on braids.  Try to keep mostly to "updo"s though.  KEEP YOUR HAIR OUT OF YOUR FACE!  Lose strands should not go farther forward than right in front of your ears.  Lose hair in your face is very annoying to the audience.  Use bobby pins and hairspray liberally.

If you have braids already, think along the same lines as the tutorials.  Make larger braids and create volume around your head.  Buns are an easy way to look period too.
