This backwoods spitfire lives and works in our Nation's Capital between an art gallery and a drag house. He is a dynamic storyteller, classically trained musician and an accomplished illustrator. Currently, he is the theater teacher and director of Jackson-Reed High School's award winning theater program. He was honored as DC Public School's "Performing Arts Teacher of the Year" in the spring of 2023. As well as designing and assisting in the city, he has worked with Sabrina Soto on HGTV's REALESTATE INTERVENTION and coordinated costumes for the Washington National Opera. He has served as a guest artist at Footlight Players Theater Camp and Teen Academy for eight seasons. Between teaching and summer camps, Dan has served over 2000 students.

MY NAME IS ASHER LEV (Arden Theater), STUNNING (Wholly Mammoth) winner of the Helen Hayes Award, and THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE (Signature Theater, 2009 Tony Award Winner).
His designs include SUITE SURRENDER (1st Stage), GREASE (Post Playhouse), BOLA NIEVE; CUBA'S KING OF SONG (Gala Theatro), SUMMER IN NOHANT (Ambassador Theater), A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD (KCACTF Region II Selection 2010), THE ASH GIRL (The University of Maryland), ANTON IN SHOW BUSINESS (University of Maryland), ANTIGONE (IN THE WOODS), LES MISERABLES (Mancini Award Winner, Scenic Design), JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH, CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, INTO THE WOODS, ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, and GUYS AND DOLLS.
Dan grew up in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains about 40 minutes southeast of Pittsburgh, a town with a rich history Eastern European culture, coal mining, and glass production. He spends his free time spending time outdoors gardening and being a favorite uncle.
